Perry is our guitarist and vocalist. He also plays some keys on a few tunes. He is a cool dude and a good musician. When Perry was 10 years old, he began to figure out how a guitar works. He started hittin' it hard in high school playing bass in a band called Seven Story Darkness. They played weekend teen dances in almost every small town in the Texas Panhandle. Then he switched focus to acoustic & electric guitar. He became the co-owner of Sledgehammer Music in Clovis, N.M. in early '70s and had the opportunity to meet the late Norman Petty. His friend & bandmate worked for Mr. Petty at his radio station and he graciously let them do some recording in his world class studio. It was nothing serious, but it was the thrill of a lifetime for Perry. From then till now he has played with many friends in bands such as Whiplash, Southern Blend, Brass Ring, and now Cheap Vices. He says the less seriously he takes himself, the better the music flows.
He is only in this thing for the love of the music and fun with good friends.
His musical influences are Beatles, Eagles, Clapton, Johnny Winter, Tiny Tim, The Chipmunks, and pretty much everything he has ever heard.
